    The U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Academy is accepting applications for resident courses with vacancies.

    My name is John Richardson, I am a Program Specialist in the Training and Education department at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, AL. You may have met Mr. Russell, while attending the BCOC National Conference and Symposium June 26- July 2, 2022, or you may have attended one of the CDP sponsored courses at the Symposium.

    The CDP offers advanced hands-on training at our training center in Anniston, AL. The CDP’s training programs are accredited and are funded through our federal budget “without” travel or training expense to you or your agency.

    The CDP’s emergency response training curricula are the finest in the nation and along with our premier facilities, make for high-end, full-scale training offerings. If you are a state, local, or tribal government emergency responder, this training is completely funded by DHS at no cost to you or your jurisdiction. We fly you into Atlanta airport, pick you up, transport you to the CDP, and provide all meals and lodging.

    We provide:

    Travel to the CDP via commercial air carriers
    Chauffer driven to and from every day of class
    Over 50 course offerings, up to five days in length
    All meals, in our modern dining facilities
    All didactic and hands on training courses
    All training equipment needed for the courses offered
    State of the art electronic course materials, and more

    Course Description

    This course is designed for FEMA grantees and sub-grantees. It includes discussion and activities to improve the ability of FEMA grantees to administer Federal grant funding.

    The learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU.

    Selection Criteria: Participants must be FEMA grantees or sub-grantees ONLY. Invitations and course announcements are sent to grantees directly from the Grants Programs Directorate.

    NOTE: NO STIPEND OR TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THIS COURSE. Students must be grant recipients, and are allowed to use Management and Administrative (M&A) grant funds for training with approval from Program Analyst (Headquarters or Region).

    Improve collaboration across disciplines to integrate grants management functions.
    Review applicable cost principles and navigate and apply the FEMA Code of Federal Regulations and FEMA Information Bulletins.

All NFA classes are offered free of charge. We will provide lodging to those selected to attend and also provide travel stipends. Your cost is your time and meals while on campus.

    It’s that time finally when we will be heading back to Dillard for EDI. It has been a long two years away. We are excited and eagerly awaiting our arrival on the Dillard campus.
